Statement from the Leader of the Official Opposition Heather Stefanson on Remembrance Day
Today, we honour the bravery of all those who have served our province and our country. As we mark Remembrance Day, we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by thousands of Canadians in uniform, across generations, in pursuit of peace and freedom at home and around the world.
We also take this opportunity to thank our veterans and active military personnel, as well as their families, for their commitment and dedication to a safe future for all Canadians. Their sacrifices echo through time, reminding us of the enduring impacts of war and conflict.
Manitoba has proudly been home to many valiant Canadians who have served our country, and it continues to be an honour to have veterans, service members, and military families stationed and living in our communities across this province.
On this Remembrance Day, we encourage all Manitobans to honour those who have served, and those who continue to serve, and to wear a poppy as a measure of our immense gratitude.
Lest we forget.
