Wab Kinew Must Stand Against Trudeau’s Carbon Tax Hike
WINNIPEG — Manitoba PC Finance Critic Obby Khan released the following statement today responding to the upcoming 23% federal carbon tax hike on April 1st, which will cost Manitoba families $502 more than they get back in rebates in 2024:
“One week into the sudden Imperial Oil pipeline shutdown disrupting fuel supply to Winnipeg, drivers are already feeling the pinch: double-digit price hikes, long lines, gas stations closing early and limiting purchases.
“Manitobans can’t afford three months of this.
“Wab Kinew’s gas tax election stunt has gone bust, and prices are the highest they’ve been all year. Manitobans need relief at the pumps now more than ever.
“It’s time for Wab Kinew to stand up for Manitobans by standing up to Justin Trudeau. He needs to join the seven out of 10 Canadian premiers across party lines who are demanding Trudeau cancel the federal carbon tax hike on April 1.
“No more games, no more showmanship, no more flip flops.
“There’s still time for Wab Kinew to do right by Manitobans and ‘AXE the TAX!’”
