Statement from Official Opposition Leader Obby Khan on Lac du Bonnet Wildfire Fatalities
WINNIPEG — Obby Khan, Leader of the Official Opposition, released the following statement today on fatalities from the wildfires in the Lac du Bonnet area:
“On behalf of myself, Lac du Bonnet MLA Wayne Ewasko, and our entire PC Caucus, our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the man and woman who tragically lost their lives in the wildfires near Lac du Bonnet. This is an unimaginable loss, and we extend our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
“We are incredibly grateful to the firefighters who put their lives on the line to combat the flames, working tirelessly to protect homes and lives. First responders have shown unwavering dedication in responding to the crisis and ensuring the safety of residents. Volunteers have stepped forward with courage and compassion, offering their time and resources to support those in need.
“Thank you for your bravery, your hard work, and your commitment to keeping Manitoba safe during this crisis.”
