Manitoba PCs Update Critic Responsibilities

Shuffle puts focus on NDP’s mismanagement of finances, families, and community development heading into fall sitting: Ewasko

WINNIPEG — Today, Leader of the Official Opposition Wayne Ewasko announced changes to opposition critic roles heading into the fall sitting of the Manitoba legislature.

“The NDP’s failure to manage finances, protect vulnerable youth, and build Manitoba communities demands accountability,” said Ewasko. “Every member of our experienced and talented PC team has an important role as a voice for all Manitobans in the Legislature, challenging Wab Kinew’s NDP and holding them accountable for inaction and broken promises.”

As part of today’s update to PC critic responsibilities:

  • Lauren Stone, MLA for Midland, assumes responsibility for the Finance and Manitoba Hydro portfolios;
  • Carrie Hiebert, MLA for Morden-Winkler, adds Families to her existing responsibilities for Housing, Addictions and Homelessness, and Mental Health; and
  • Richard Perchotte, MLA for Selkirk, adds Culture and Heritage to his existing responsibilities for Advanced Education and Training.

“Education, justice, healthcare, and a thriving economy that delivers strong social services for Manitoba families will continue to be top priorities as we focus on policies that bring progress back to our communities,” said Ewasko.
